Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for the Warehouse Operator based in Poboya site.

The role is responsible to administers and operates the organization's warehouse, including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Always follows correct process in work area to achieve set daily operational KPI’s and to mitigate operational risks.

  • All customers receive correct parts and quantities in time and on time.

  • Any discrepancies regarding inventory, safety and other anomalies are to be reported.

  • Assist with stock counts – Wall to wall and cycle counts.

  • Housekeeping and safety is adhered too.

  • Receiving of inbound purchase orders or transfer orders.

  • Put-away/binning of stock.

  • Picking and packing of orders.

  • Warehouse administration and housekeeping.

  • Uses correct tools and materials safely in executing operational processes e.g. Forklift.

  • Completes daily inspections on equipment to ensure that equipment is safe to operate.

  • Participates in continuous improvement projects.

  • Assist in accurately and methodically preparing documentation for relevant orders.

  • Handles customer queries when requested to sort out relevant issues.

  • Provision of backup support to all team members as required.

  • Provision of on the job coaching and guidance as and when necessary.

  • Accounts for all materials and supplies in the store’s facilities; audits goods received into warehouse. Oversees receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures.

  • Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space.

  • Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment

  • Identify and report any unsafe work behaviors/ practices, hazards and incidents immediately.

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • High school or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with having post-secondary education/training in business or supply chain discipline would be an advantage.

  • More than 1 year in supply chain environment/warehousing/distribution or relevant experience.

  • Proficient skill in English with written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft office.

  • Strong attention to detail with organizes and time management skills.

  • Can-Do attitude.

  • Ability to travel regionally or stationed on site.

  • Prior exposure to ERP, WMS, TMS and EHS management systems (experience with Aurora and DI is an advantage)
